It looks like a second show has been added on the 3rd. There's still tickets left for the first night though?

Found this now-
And, tickets have been moving so briskly we've added a second night - Monday, November 3rd. Monday will be the victory-lap gig, mostly for their friends and family, but an extremely limited allotment of tickets will be going onsale TOMORROW, October 24th, AT NOON. If you love glammy, snotty, fun rock&roll, you want to be there.

One week til I leave for the NYC weekend. The poor neighborhood kids won't be able to get any sweets off me on Halloween as I won't be home.

If they played Minneapolis and Chicago instead of New York and L A they would have at least 500 to 1000 more people at their shows. Coast people tend to be a little more jadded than fans in the midwest. Why do they keep just playing in NYC and LA? It baffles me.

Yeah, I blame the US. This country's had ample opportunities to catch on to this band the right way and has consistently chosen to turn its nose up and opt for some shit like Nickelback or Seether instead. If this place weren't so hung up on keeping up with the newest flavor of the week and tossing the old aside the 'Hearts may have actually stood a chance here... and if they'd succeeded here, well... that's all if would have taken.

Earth Vs. should be AT LEAST in the top twenty albums of all-time sales-wise... and here we are fifteen years later and in all my life I have run into one (count 'em, ONE) person in my everyday life other than myself who has even heard of the band, aside from people I introduced them to myself.

I hate this world sometimes.
Dont worry its gonna get much worse

Make sure you get down early to check this awesome band out!!

In case anyone's interested, I'll be the mildly overweight guy with the green Ramones cap on backwards and probably a big tattered green-ish coat.

Excellent.

DJ Bubba Guitar was pretty much just a guy playing CD's up until the show started. I was shocked by how good his selections were though. Even the stuff he played that I was unfamiliar with was really great. He and I chatted for a good bit after the show.

The Rodney Speed thing was different but entertaining. You'd never have known that drumming wasn't Ginger's "real" calling.

The Wildhearts were fantastic. I think it was the tightest show I've ever seen them play. Aside from a couple of flubs, namely CJ miscounting his "ca"s in Caffeine Bomb at one point, and the entire band losing their place during the bridge in Dangerlust and having to confer with Ritch to get back on track, it was spot on. Definitely the most "sounds like the album" performance I've seen in my now five concerts attended. They were also very lively and energetic and seemed to really be enjoying themselves. No obvious tension between members/crew, as seen at the last New York show.

One big, big, big disappointment for me, however, was that the B-Sides section of the show was massively culled down to a shocking FIVE B-sides, including Caffeine Bomb.

Here's the set:

Greetings From Shitsville
TV Tan
Everlone
Shame On Me
Loveshit
Miles Away Girl
My Baby Is A Headfuck
Suckerpunch
News Of The World
Drinking About Life
Love U 'Til I Don't

Dangerlust
Girlfriend Clothes
Caffeine Bomb
Beautiful Thing You
29X The Pain

We got to talk to all of the band members as usual. Although this time it was more my wife chasing people down than me. I ran into Scott early on, before the show, and found that I had pretty much nothing to say... so I didn't go out of my way after that for fear of looking like a starstruck dumbfounded dipshit.

And finally... one other note. There was this very pleasant couple who traveled there from Michigan, and at some point in the show a person who I'm told is the bassist for Sorry and the Sinatras actually urinated on the floor and on the woman's coat. Actually standing in the middle of the crowd this guy just whips it out and pisses. My wife attempted to confront him but he got nasty enough with her about it that I felt the need to pull her away from him, for fear of her getting hit.

A very close friend of mine witnessed the urinating, and I have no doubt that it happened. And the woman from Michigan definitely found herself with a soaking wet, stinking jacket after the show that she had to stuff into a trash bag provided to her by the venue.

That's a shame about the B-Sides, maybe they'll throw the others in tonight?

Great show, thanks for the youtube video. Washed away the bad taste of the Don Hills Sonic Circus gig from a couple of years ago.

NYC show Nov 2nd

Postby neevee » 9th Nov 08, 20:20

I was nervous before the show started. Was there going to be a repeat of the GATSC at Don Hill's?
My girlfriend had never seen the Wildhearts before so I wasn't sure if she would enjoy it.

Truth was that it was a great show. Probably one of the best shows I've seen them play going back to Glasgow in '93 and '94.

My girlfriend loved the show too.

Tried taking some pictures which largely turned out poor apart from one brief video clip during the guitar solos on Headf**k, where Ginger wiped sweat off CJ's head and proceeded to taste it followed by a spoof throwing up. Have never posted on You Tube before, but will try, it is pretty funny.
