Should this forum be on The Wildhearts' website instead???

Postby JasonH » 15th Dec 08, 05:06

Should this "Wildhearts" forum be on The Wildhearts' website rather than on Ginger's?

Arguments for:

The Wildhearts community seems to be shrinking a little

The current tour had to be downsized (purely credit crunch or a combination of quiet profile and price?)

"The Wildhearts" were, and are, to Joe Public and the media, a much bigger draw than "Ginger"

Anyone "new" wanting to find a community to discuss The Wildhearts would go to their website and find nothing

Even if they accidentally ventured over here they'd find a homepage that hasn't been updated for a year and maybe go no further, assuming (correctly?) that G&TSC are no more

Ginger is asking if The Wildhearts still have a place in current society, when The Wildhearts' current website has no current interaction with that society other than press releases

Arguments against:

It'd mean all of us moving over there

Any webhosting issues?

The Wildhearts website has had precious little band interaction for months or years. When was the last Ginger Says or Ask Ginger? Fan participation is a two-way street.

Discuss.

I think it would make sense to anyone new searching for this forum. But then it is pretty well signposted from there and the list. I'd like to see some new content on the website though, maybe a link to the Flickr site too?

Dear God, this should be on the Wildhearts' site. To all extents and purposes the band look dead without it, frankly.

I've always thought this forum should be on the Wildhearts main site as they are the going concern. I've always found it funny also that most of the interesting news comes from this forum and never seems to appear on either website. But then that was mainly the case in the old days with the List aswell.

Whoever maintains this forum (i should probably be aware but amn't) will be able to change the headings, logos and things i should think? So it would just be a case of putting a new button in the Wildhearts site options list. I don't suppose it matters if the host domain isn't that of thewildhearts.co(m/.uk), (Rap my knuckles with a wooden rule(r) if this is incorrect, what do i know, i'm a drummer?
