Blink 182 reform!

Postby my3dtvtan » 9th Feb 09, 14:54

Indeed they announced last nite that they were picking up where they left of with a new album and tour :D

Anyone else hyped up about this? They seem to be one of those bands that everyone said they didnt like when they were arround but as soon as they split, everyone wanted them back.

Shure, I have my Cradle Of Filth and Converge complete collections but theres nothing like jumping up and down like a 13 year old to 'First Date' :D

Bring on the uk tour!

Ginger - "Splitting up!"

"Bernard, its hot in the worm."

I heard this. I always thought they were fun, but the one time I saw them live it was about 5 shows before the split and it wasn't that great because they hardly spoke, which I thought was odd at the time. It was only afterwards that I realised it was because they hated each other.

Top ten band for me. This is pretty exciting, but I worry that they might've lost that magic they had. The last album took some work to get into.

Personally I liked their last one best - Travis laid down some great drum tracks on it

Excellent news, been waiting for this for some time. They were my fave band for a while there (til I put on some WH for the first time in a year and was brought back to my senses).

The last album was an utter blinder, and with the best drummer in rock on side, I'm very very pleased about this.

Supporting Green Day on tour! That would be amazing.

Likelihood of getting tickets is plumetting however. It's be like the rush for the Leeds Weekend tickets.

I saw them at the Glasgow Barras about 8 or 9 years ago. One of my top ten gigs of all time :D

Have you seen the interview with them at the Grammys?

They all look very uncomfortable, and Mark barely even opens his mouth!

I hope they are doing it for the right reasons, because at their peak they are one of my favourite bands. But if they are doing it for the wrong reasons, then it could be a disaster!

Aye, I thought that when I saw the clip of them giving the award at the Grammy's, that time around tho it was all Mark talking and no Tom.

I think the reason they look uncomfortable was actually due to what they were being asked about. It's common knowledge that Tom acyed like an utter prick and at the end of the day, he's gonna feel guily (maybe) about acting like a tosser to the otehr two, and the other two are gonna feel a little bit like his bitches for letting him back in as if it had never happened.

Plus if they've got an ounce of integrity they're gonna be considering that many people will be questioning their motives for this reformation, so that could make them appear uncomfortable.

In short, so they should, money grabbing bitches, but if they come back as strong as they were I'll be one happy cunt.

Blink-182 reforming was something you could see happening a mile away. None of their projects since have taken off and that was a definite sign they were gonna be back. To be honest, i have seen them a bunch of times and when they first started touring on Cheshire Cat they were supporting Pennywise and they rocked. Then on the Wasting Time tour, i saw them play a record store basement to like 40 people here in Oz and it was unreal. They fuckin' rocked. Then I saw them come back on the Dammit tour and they sucked. It was so fuckin sloppy and they spent half of the gig making dumb jokes about masturbation and beastiality. It was so lame and stupid. And it seemed their shitty toilet humour was more important than playing the songs well enough. Like they were terribly sloppy. They jumped around so much that they just kept fucking up. And this is when their ticket prices started getting costly. I gave up on them after that. I just hope now that they are older they get on with the show and kick out the jams or just dont bother getting back on the road to begin with.
