May 7th? Bugger. Clashes with Dan Reed at Bush Hall. Hmm, Dudley, Nottingham or Southampton?

If you did Dudley, you could do Dan Reed there the night before too?

There's no sign of tickets on Ticketweb yet. The link from the Academy site takes me to an error page. And a search on Ticketweb doesn't bring up London tickets either (they're not even pending, on sale tomorrow, like Newcastle). All is working with See, but that's a last, final, desperate resort.

It's not listed on the Ticketweb calendar yet, so either someone's ballsed up, or it'll go up later on hopefully.

Yeah, the board doesn't like URL's that use the '|' that Seetickets seem so fond of.

That's the direct link to them...

We've known about See for a while, but Ticketweb are a bit cheaper and more reliable in our experience.

I've used most of the ticket agencies, See seem to be a bit greedy of late..I don't remember their charges being that high a couple of years ago.

We Got Tickets and Ticketweb are my favourites..in the end they'll get bought out though and we'll pay the same damn high rates they do in America..

For some reason, Seetickets often like to claim that they're 'awaiting stock' right up until the week of the gig, which is bad news for worriers such as me. Ya pays yer money and ya gets yer ticket: them's the rules I like to play by. So, yeah, I much prefer Ticketweb.

Islington Academy

Postby Mick G » 26th Apr 09, 06:18

Islington Academy it is, of course.

Nice enough venue, 2 bars easy to get to without missing any music (unlike say Hammersmith Apollo) air con, pretty good sound, not bad view unless you're right at the back (as it's not sloped).

It's gonna be a cracker!

I'll be the Gollum look-alike in Sick of Drugs 'green bug' shirt, ordering Guiness, singing along out of tune and waving my hair about.

See you there!

The 'Awaiting stock' thing can sometimes be true, but can also be a stalling tactic to get you to wait a few more days before calling back to say that you haven't received your tickets yet. They don't really pay much attention to 'I haven't got my ticket yet' callers until a few days before the event, then if they really haven't shown up they can arrange tickets to be left on the door for you.

The agency might be awaiting stock if the event is one with specially printed tickets (say like festival tickets with holograms in, or anything specially printed for the event). The other type of tickets are the ones the agency prints themselves, which Ticketweb do for most events (them little green and grey thermal printed tickets - look the same no matter what event and your address gets printed on one too). If the agency is printing their own, they can send them out as soon as they like.

Aye, I'll be knocking about (probably with Sarc, but don't let that put you off... ;)) from sometime in the late afternoon.

The Glassworks again everyone?

This was my initial assumption too, but so many times with Seetickets I've been made to wait until the last minute, only to receive tickets that they've printed themselves.
