Eureka Machines single OUT MONDAY

Postby pete gusher » 29th Apr 09, 14:11

Hello,

The Eureka Machines single EVERYONE LOVES YOU is out on Monday 4th May, hooray. It's out on Wrath Records - WRATH CD51 - and you can buy NOW it from various record shops - you Leeds types can get it at Crash and Jumbo, and online from Norman's. It's also on iTunes. You can buy it directly from us using the PayPal button on the band My Space http://www.myspace.com/eurekamachines and/or the shop page on the website http://www.eurekamachines.com. And it's only three quid. Three quid! That's about the same as a pint in town (or a half if you live in London).

Watch the video on You Tube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Zabn5u87cw.

It's backed up with an all-new song called The Bigger They Are, The Harder They Fall, an acoustic version of The Story Of My Life and a raucous live version of our set-opener Scream Eureka. It's basically been done as an introduction to Eureka Machines, and we're doing it to try and get some press and airplay for our band. A novel idea I'm sure you'll agree! If you go to our website, there's a list of radio and TV types' e-mail addresses who have the single, we would love it if you got round to giving them a nudge and requesting to hear it.

We're supporting it with a load of gigs:

Friday 8 May 2009 - Vintage Rock Bar, Doncaster

Saturday 9 May 2009 - Riverside, Selby

Sunday 10 May 2009 - Rio's, Leeds - with Ginger and Laika Dog - NOTE: ONSTAGE 7.30PM

All the best,
EMx

This is indeed a great single, and the B-sides are just as class as the A-sides. Cover's a bit scary though.

Is it much different to the version on the promo EP? I liked the album versions being different to what was on there. There was an acoustic 'Story of My Life' on the acoustic sessions EP too, so same versions?

I'm buying it anyway, just asking!

oh and

Sunday 21 June 2009 - The Vic Inn, Derby

I'm there!

I wasnt aware there was another version of TBTATHTF. I was under the impression it was a new song hmmmm....... If there is another version I would very much like to hear it

The Story Of My Life is the same one as on the Acoustic Session EP

What other EM promos are there Im only aware of the 3 track "Promo ep 1" (Being Good Is Okay (But Being Bad Is Better), The Story Of My Life and Scream Eureka) and the acoustic ep.

Actually never wonderd if there was a "Promo ep 2" but, if it exists, I wants one! :D

The second one had

1. Red Wine Smile
2. Going Down
3. The Bigger They Are The Harder They Fall

tracks 1 and 2 were different from the album versions (at least I think Going Down was, my memory isn't so good)

Hello,

We did the demos in late 2007 and they turned out pretty well, so we embellished them, recorded some extra guitars and vocals, and recorded some more songs and put them out as the album Do Or Die. So the original two demos (of which we made about three or four hundred of the first, and about a hundred of the second) are like the framework for the versions you hear on Do Or Die. The album versions are loads better, and mastered properly (by everyone favourite masterer Jase Edwards).

The Bigger They Are, The Harder They Fall was on the second one, and was going to be on the album (along with another song you haven't heard yet), but we couldn't make it fit with the rest of the songs - so we saved it for the first single. It's a song I am immensely proud of, though. Very difficult to pull off live, but we're hoping to at some point soon.

The acoustic CD was something we recorded for a radio session that never really happened in the end, so we just put it out as a demo-y thing. We really like the version of The Story Of My Life, so it fit in quite nicely on the single, and the version of Scream Eureka you hear on the single is from a live session we did for BBC Introducing. You can see the recording of it, along with the other two from that session, on You Tube.

There was a little interview on the CMU Daily news email a few days ago (Oh, OK... April 30th, but they're reeally long mails and I'm a bit behind with reading them... :? ).

It's called 'Same 6 Questions' because they ask everybody... well, I'm sure you can see where I'm going with this.
