CJ didn't look overly content.

Did you see the moment were Ginger jokingly detuned one of CJ's guitar strings mid-song? CJ just carried on regardless! Maybe (more by luck than judgement?) McGinger 'tuned' that string to a tuning that actually worked? I didn't hear any difference (maybe because the sound mix was so shit) although I clearly saw Ginger give the machine head a good tweak!

mmm....does anyone know what amps they are using?

On the Scarborough DVD Ginger and CJ are using Framus amps, which I thought was odd.... I guess they have/had a deal with them because CJ uses several Framus guitars (on that dvd and the 'in the studio' for a start) ....the sparkly ones.

But since I saw that 'marshall' interview thing with Scott I figured they were all sorted out by Marshall these days? ......... or maybe they used a rented backline for Sonisphere?

....and sorry if this is a bit geeky, but as a guitar player I find this stuff interesting.

As far as I know, the Framus stuff for Scarborough was all rented.

Ginger was using a Marshall head with any number of different cabinets for the solo stuff. What was the new stuff they were trying?

I'm not sure, but it wasn't one of the best known makes. I'm sure Rich Jones could tell us though.

CJ has a deal with Framus - hence his use of their guitars and amps on his solo tour and use of their guitars with the Wildhearts.

Maybe they should have stuck with Marshall - they do exactly what it says on the tin. And they generally work.

as for the rest, i can barely remember as i was too drunk but i knw i had a good time hahah!!

Think they finished with I wanna go, recall Sick of Drugs and OCD at one point too.

They were the highlight of my weekend. As has been mentioned the sound wasn't perfect, but not a major issue, and they just got on with it and played anyway so it made little difference. I prefered it to the Download set, although we'll have to see if this gets the same glowing reviews. I liked the fact half the songs were post '97, so anyone who hasn't seen them for a while will realise they're still putting out good music. The Jackson Whites was fantastic, although having watched the live clip on youtube loads I didn't expect anything less.

Ginger mentioned about halfway through that because he had a shit guitar sound they would leave out the heavier songs because they would sound awful, although I'm not sure this made any difference as they'd already played Suckerpunch and Everlone, and still played OCD, probably my favourite track of the Must Be Destroyed era and it got a more energetic response from the crowd than it often does at their own shows.

Also full credit to the Sonisphere people...the stage had been running late all evening, the Wildhearts problems setting up meant they came on at least 20 minutes (I think) late, but they got to play the full length set, finishing about 25 minutes past the scheduled finish for live music on that stage.

Saw it, got a picture of it! I'll be posting pics up after work tonight, it was all a bit random with the light and smoke. You'll be pleased to know that the question of what a gentleman wears under his kilt has NOT been answered!
