There were two bands before them, Scare and The Sign (in that order I think, apologies if I got that wrong). Scare were a fairly run-of-the-mill punk band with another hyperactive frontman with no discernible talent/originality
The Sign were much better, a proper metal rhythm section, allied incongrously to a hair metal singer/lead guitarist who looked a little like a younger Sebastian Bach without the complete arseholiness. Bizarrely the mix worked pretty well and they had some good songs, well put together and well played.
But The Answer blew them off the stage, actually they blew everyone I've seen this year off their respective stages (with the exception of GATSS who squeak home in the lead) - they really were that good. This is a band who have one EP out, with a single and album to come over the next month, but played with the assurance of a band with a dozen platinum albums under their belts.
