Morning all!
Was at the Guns N Roses gig in Newcastle last night. It wasnt the greatest gig ive ever seen but it wasnt shite either. They Done most of Appetite ( Rocket Queen, Paradise City and Your Crazy were the only ones absent if im not mistaken) Live N Let Die, November Rain, Knocking..., You Could Be Mine and a couple of new ones. Went on at 10.15, played for 2 hours and it was all going so well until someone decided to launch something at the stage in Axl Roses direction ( a coin i think ), and guess what happened next???? Yes you got it right ladies and gentleman, the fucker walked off stage! Half way thorugh Nightrain! So after a few minutes, and a few tears later Axl and the band returned to the stage and started Nightrain again which ended the night. No encore but im not sure if it was cos they ran out of time or whether Axl spat his dummy out because of the coin incident.
I think a few people were getting bored towards the end cos a few people in the standing area started sitting down on the floor which ive never seen at the arena before. They had 3 guitarists and they all had to do a10 minute solo which wasted a good 30 minutes! Any way it was good to see Izzy playing on a few songs and Sebastian Bach joined them for My Michelle.

So all in all it was a good gig but maybe it would have been better without all the fucking on - guitar and piano solos: Pointless!
But then again at least we all got our moneys worth - we paid £40 for the bastard!!

I was there too ( were you the one in the Wildies t-shirt?).

Pretty good night , Sebastian Bach rocked, good to hear the old Skid Row songs again.
Bullet for my valentine were shit and really spoiled all the hard work Seb did working up the crowd.

G&R were average, we had to wait 1 3/4 hrs after BFMV came off before G&R came on (And that was probably only coz the crowd were booing)

Axl still has it in abundance but his band dosen't, Slash was sorely missed, Sweet Child Of Mine was riddled with off or missing chords, November Rain was almost ruined !.

Everyone was pissed off towards the end including Axl, who expected everyone to sit around for ages in a oven of a arena and then still be jumping around at 12-15 am !!!!!!
If he had't dicked about and came on in good time it may have been a good night.

All in all, it was a typical Axl spat, (No change in his attitude then!) that spoiled the night and he didn't even have the decency to thank us for forking out £40, he just walked off and said "The Shows Over"

I knew I should have gone home after Seb Bach !!!!

Fluffygrue you'll just have to make sure your stood in the bar till about 10-20, BFMV don't realy do a stage show, just stand there and thrash guitars and scream!!!!!!!

But if Axl is in a better mood you''ll get a good night for your cash!!!!!

Enjoy !

NeilJunkster I wasn't talking to you just saw you heading to the bar from my seat, I always look for Wildies T-shirts at gigs, Funny thing is I normally spot more at a Ginger concert, Strange eh ?

Towers Of London opened in Glasgow (Apparently - I was still in the pub. really wanted to miss BFMV)

GNR were fine - what I saw of them Last trains home and not fancying paying £40 for a taxi meant I left at 11:30 GNR finished just after 12:15

I loved the Glasgow gig - not as good as Donington, because no 'My Michelle' with Sebastien Bach, in fact no 'My Michelle' period.

I do tend to say 'he' instead of 'they' when talking about the current band, yet some of them have been in GnR longer than Slash et al.

Saw GnR with the classic Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy and Steven line-up. They are no longer the same in line-up or attitude, but which band is after nearly 20 years?

As for Velvet Revolver - they are AWESOME! Seen 'em six times and wanna see 'em more!

Cool setlist! I want one!!!!!!!! lol!
