VDC - Japan version

Hello...

New here, so apologies if this is an old question but I haven't found the answer anywhere on the site or the board: On the Japanese version of VDC there are three bonus tracks, effectively the encore from the shows (at least the one I saw) - are these live recordings or studio versions?

I think they sound like they're probably live, in which case, does anyone know where they were recorded? Info may well be in the album sleeve but I can't read Japanese!

One thing confuses me still... "the shank"? What the hell...? Isn't "shank" olde english for "leg"? Like... longshanks etc.

The 3 bonus tracks are Sonic Shake, Answering Machine and Boys Keep Swinging. Don't know what show from though.
