Yeah yeah yeah being released!

Albums, singles, songs and general Ginger banter

Well I can't see "Yeah Yeah Yeah" getting much airplay on commercial airwaves as it has swearing ("Bullshit") in. Shame. "Mother City" may have been a safer choice ?

(But hey what do I know about the music business :P )

I was reading through all of this and everybody has a fair point to state. but whoever knows Ginger personally would know that even if he got "big" he would still enjoy very much doing intimate gigs and all the rest... He's a peoples person! He enjoys interacting with his audience and vice-versa.
As to Yeah Yeah Yeah being released as a single, that's great in every respect, not only for him but also for the band playing with him.The new Sonic Circus album is due to be recorded fairly soon and It's not gonna have Gingers name in the front. So maybe and let me state that again ,I do not know his reasons for releasing this single now, would maybe be to provide a launch platform for this project to be able to stand on its own...who knows...
As to his new album, who cares about what other people think? I have heard it and I say it's the best Ginger has ever done! absolutely fabulous, genious even, and I don't use that word lightely!
So keep his music to yourself if that's what you want to do.Share it with the masses if you think he deserves more recognition. Whatever you do,just keep supporting him and attending his shows and buying his albums cause you're his fuel...

I think once again Luis just hit the nail on the head! Gingers music is a personal experience for everybody that listens to it. And im sure that whatever happens with future success, he will always stay true to the people that have stuck by him and helped get him there in the first place.

I don't see him becoming 'big' now. In my opinion, the major chances of doing that came and went with the attention and momentum he had around the time of Earth vs / PHUQ / that ACDC tour in the mid-90s, when he was ten years younger

And really, the Wildies were too dysfunctional to capitalise on even that.

Much as I love Ginger, I think Doug Brod pretty much nailed it in his 'Too pop for the metalheads; too metal for the pop fans' comment in his 'Must Be Destroyed' review. I think his output has generally been too idiosyncratic for mass appeal.

But I also think that the honesty and personal nature of his lyrics, his bottomless well of melodies and the sheer quality and consistency of his output means he'll always have a core dedicated fanbase to keep him afloat. Which is nice.

Not sure I really see the point in this single release sadly. It features 1 new track (which is merely a cover of an old wildies song...which i can't see being as good as the original)

And it just seems far too late, the albums been out a long while, so unless he's lucky enough to get some air-play and attract new fans very few people are likely to buy it.

I would guess that the majority of big ginger/wildies, even quality rock, fans will have the album already and won't be persuaded to buy a single purely to get a willing dowling cover.

Shame tho, should released a single with new b-sides a few months back :?

The release of yeah, yeah, yeah is not too late!
It might even be the launchpad of a new tour from Ginger and the Sonic Circus and with a new album to follow I say it's perfect timing

Time to get the word out and promote Ringmaster G......!

Hopefully the fact that it was single of the week will have persuaded at least a few people not familiar with The Wildhearts / Ginger to check out the album already...

And let's be honest, it's by far the best single ANYONE will release this year!

Eh, I don't think Howling Willie is Willie Dowling. I could be wrong.......but I'm probably not.

PS I'm gonna buy the single , hopefully it will be on sale at the solo gigs next week.

If it's not someone whose name starts with a "G" and ends with an "R", I'll eat my hat.

PS. I don't own a hat.

I refer the Honourable Gentlemen to my original assertion that hat consumption will not be necessary, as I believe I am right.
